People who believe in the saying money can't buy you time often face moral or monetary issues of their own. Money can buy you time. It's just a matter of whether you are willing to forsake common ethics. It's just a matter of whether you are willing to pay the price. It's just a matter of whether you appreciate time more than money.

The world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel. -Horace Walpole

It depends... Money really cannot buy you time ultimately *coughkeywordcough*, although it does come in very useful in short sporadic circumstances. I could name you a million concrete reasons such as diseases with no cures which therefore renders money useless etc, but why bother. :P And even if you were rich enough to allow the most lofty of possibilities to actualize (and therefore buy you an eternal amount of time you desire), there's always time running against you before substantial results for those possibilities can actually mature, and by then... you might have run out of time. Haha.
Time, in my opinion is measured by the moments you are conscious of. I doubt many people would constantly think of how many years they have before death. In fact, the immediate period you are in and conscious of would attract much more of your attention. If you want to look at it in the big picture, money can't really buy you time. However aesthetically, it brings your consciousness of the happenings to a much more pleasing experience.
Compare spending time sleeping and spending time from birth to death. Which one is the one you'll be more conscious of? Think of the terms like "time passes slowly" or "time passes quickly". Are they simply the same amount of time, or are they totally different in your mind?
Yup, very true. Money can't increase the aggregrate quantity of time you have on this earth, but it can alter its quality to well, some extent.
Faith. YJ. Good to see you around.
