Ah life

Music: [Evergreens/New Age]
Book: [History readings?]

Realised my panasonic dmc-fx7 was really underutilized-- so here's some amateurish shots taken on a pseudo modern-day aristocrats' outing, the first in quite some time now.

Well if you've attended several seminars before you would probably have noted they are generally only interesting at reception time. Look at these man.

Cupcakes generally go well with some coffee.

It's always a pleasure attending cocktail parties and dinner and dances and the like. The pleasure comes in different forms for different people but for me these things appeal to me the most because you get to mill about with lots of people belonging to a similar class. (Not so much in this context but nvm) There is this sense of collective identity, and you actually feel good that you see yourself as part of it-- and incidentally this sense is complemented by the attatchment you feel with your own group within a sea of people.
And I have to repeat this: The identity of the class you're in (temporarily, at least) can only serve to enhance your own the moment you decide to convert to your own real self, especially when they come to conflict.

The lounge bar at the lobby area of swissotel the stamford has pretty good ambience within but is placed untactfully close to the landing area where a constant stream of hotel residents can be seen walking in and out; and the scene of the vehicles outside just doesnt work out.
For me being in a more lavish setting is, or must be, equivalent to being transported to another galaxy where you actually feel trapped in a cosy sort of way within the confines of your seat and table. The company you're having is the edge of the galaxy and the restuarant the universe; the world outside is non-existent, and those two hours spent must be felt as though you've been through a lifetime.

Anyway it strikes me that I've got no female friends to go about gallivanting with. Hmm. And it seems that, for several indiscernible reasons, I feel relaxed in a time when Im supposed to be feeling stressed. Shrugs.

Elsewhere, $10 000 cash and some ipods up for grabs in the National Monopoly Campus Challenge 2005!!!

Well back to work.
