Grr
Music: Weezer - The Good Life
Book: Mortimer J.Adler/Charles Van Doren - How To Read A Book
Find myself plugged with much alternative/rock music recently, that perhaps a result of vigourous circulation of mp3s online...Or maybe it's because the contours of such expressions fit perfectly around the essence of recent life itself..
I've got 7 days to study for the tests. 3 days are taken up, so I've got one day for each subject. May the force be with me.
It is rather comforting to know that it's still possible to do well for your As despite starting revision only in June, that coming from various seniors who were themselves decent performers. Yes, rather comforting..
Has been some talk of scholarships and such recently, with me being accused of myopia and the like. Think it'll do well to clear several things here. I'll put it simply.
A) Study -> Good grades -> Scholarship -> Overseas education.
B) Enjoy life -> Get out of singapore -> Overseas education.
Structure A belongs to that of a classic mugger who is fixated on the prestige etc of getting into some great institution out there. Structure B belongs to me. It is fully unjustfied to launch pseudo-accusations on me for the simple fact you do not understand the two structures; they are congruent but are not interchageable. In fact, upon careful examination, they are at odds with each other in more ways than one. To put it in another way, the pattern belonging to that of a mugger and the pattern belonging to someone who wants to get what he deems best for him is very alike- myopic people confuse the two and on that premise frequently think one is the other.
Failure to get overseas would just mean a loss of experience on my part, but if you do know me well enough I place extreme value on such experiences.
I like this quote: "I befriend loners but we give each other a lot of space so that equals loner still"
I like this quote better: "Life is the longest death."
