War of the Worlds

Music: The Arcade Fire - Haiti
Book: Albert Camus - The Plague

Caught this one the second time, noted it must be an excruciatingly horrific experience to be, like tom cruise, stuck in a world with nothing on your side except a girl who likes to scream and scream.

Me (to Friend I): Would you like to get married?
Friend I: No.
Me: Why?
Friend I: Because I’ve got no choice. (Referring, here, as some kind of cynical joke, to his own lack of normal quality needed to attract the opposite gender)
Me (to Friend II): How bout you?
Friend II: No.
Me: Why.
Friend II: Because I’ve got no choice. (Referring, here, as some kind of cynical joke, to the lack of candidates to pick from due to the uniform non-appeal of the opposite gender)
Me (to both): Don’t you feel attracted to them? Isnt that kind of..weird? How about, at the very least, physical attraction?
Friend I: Yes but their non-physical attributes are repulsive.
Friend II: Their behavior is repulsive.
Me: How so?
Friend II (after some thought): It’s like they’ve got no goal in life. They move about without purpose, waiting for a rich guy to take them in.
Friend I: And there’s all the materialistic thing, and the passive-expectant behavior, …

- Excerpt taken from a typical after-dinner conversation. Of course we might want to note here that what is said above does not apply across the board to all females, nor might it be true in the first place. And it is of course, we fully admit, a reflection of our own immaturity. In any case find it both a noble and sad thing a certain portion of the male population cannot, like most normal males, find or even desire a connection with females on any level, no matter how physically attractive they turn out to be. It takes great willpower to go against your nature; as well as extraordinary nonchalance to genuinely withdraw interaction in excess of that needed to sustain a certain courtesy-based relationship with the opposite gender. That, or the repulsiveness is unexaggerated.

The principal told me I had lost some weight. Impressive the way she remembers people, and yes I have lost some weight.

The female in me wishes to express that I wished I could say the last line of yours. But anyway, try to fill out a bit more because I sometimes wonder if you are floating instead of walking... =)

And it's always discussed that men do not understand women and vice versa. =) There's usually a lot more than the material things.

There are too many holes in that conversation to be of any worthy discussion material. Next.

Ladies, ladies, do not feel offended: males like us are never worth getting offended over. We are a hideous lot, lurking underground, only coming out at night. We are invisible, insignificant souls with many funny things on our minds.

Ooh I see words coming again! But another time.

Haha am neither offended nor concerned lah. Just saying that there's nothing constructive to talk about. In any case, I do think it is sad if your male friends find females 'repulsive' to be with-- life must be pitifully excruciating for them indeed...
